Healthy Steps is a service available to LV=’s members which aims to help you find the best route for you to improve your health or reduce your risk of certain health issues.
There are different levels of the service to ensure that there is something for everyone. Added to this you will receive regular healthy offers and vouchers to keep you interested and motivated even when you don’t feel like it!
Healthy Steps is provided to LV= members by roadtohealth ltd, an independent health advisory service.
All your information is fully confidential between you and roadtohealth. No data will be passed to LV= other than the fact that you have used their gift of membership. roadtohealth will not divulge any information or sell your data to any other party. If you choose to share it with your family, GP or adviser, it is entirely up to you.
Our online security systems are the same as the most stringent Banking sites so your information is safe with us.
All new policyholders with a policy taken out from 5 February 2007 or later will be eligible for membership of Healthy Steps.
Existing policyholders who make changes to their policy which involves increasing the risk may also be eligible. Please speak to your Financial Adviser for more details.
This service is also offered, subject to availability, to selected LV= members until 31st December 2007.
Once you become a policyholder, you will be given your voucher code, which you will need to access the online health assessment and your Healthy Steps benefits.
All you need to do is log on and answer the questions as truthfully as possible.
Your membership is there to help you stay as healthy as possible. It is a journey for life and one which allows you to assess your risk of certain diseases and to reduce or manage that risk as actively as possible. Simple online health risk assessments followed up with physical healthchecks allow you to learn about yourself and what you can do to stay healthy.
It is important that you involve your GP and other health advisers in any lifestyle changes that you intend to make before you start. This is a partnership with you and your health advisers, we need to work together to get you the best plan for health. Please remember, we do not diagnose a health condition and we do not prescribe treatment.

If you know your parental family history of heart disease, stroke or diabetes this will be helpful. Otherwise if you don’t know your blood pressure, cholesterol or blood sugar levels, the system will give you the opportunity to select a range of answers and you can always visit a roadtohealth clinic to have them measured after the online test.
When you sit down to do the online tests be as honest as you can. It’s only you that you are fooling otherwise!
The first thing is, don’t panic! The wonderful thing about the human body is that it has the most amazing ability to respond to a little care and attention, so if you have a risk, which is highlighted in your risk assessment, it doesn’t necessarily mean that you have a disease or wont respond to a change in lifestyle. Remember the Healthy Steps service is there to assess your risk of certain diseases and to recommend action plans to reduce it.
Once you have registered and performed your online healthcheck, you will be able to see your online vouchers and to choose a site for your healthcheck, eyetest or nearest healthclub. You can then book online or call the relevant call centre listed on the website. Then simply click and print your unique voucher from the website and take it along to your appointment with you to ensure that you receive the listed benefits

The service does not form part of the contract with the customer and as such LV= reserves the right to withdraw the service at any time or to offer alternative services.
